District: Orlea
Personality:
Born as a cursed child, Hiei led a path of loneliness and power, seeking every way to it He would flaunt his precious stone to draw enemies and then kill them. At first glance he is seen as a rather cruel and heartless murderer who could care less about others and more about himself. His trust for demons and humans alike were nonexistence. There was a time when he allowed it just once, but learning that he could no rely on anyone but himself, he closed off his heart completely. There was a loathing darkness in his heart for a long time. It was rare, but during times when no demons dare approached him because of his immense power Hiei would allow himself to indulge in what little happiness was offered by his mother's tear stone that was given to him when he was still a baby. The stone gave him a sense of peacefulness, calmness as if it took all his pains and sorrows away. He values it very much. He often would never show this side of himself around his companions. Emotions were for the weak. He always kept them under check despite being easily roused by others.
When he lost the stone, he realized how important it was to him, hence sacrificing his power for a Jagan.
At least until after his raid of the Reikai vault and ending up as a lackey for Reikai. Hiei goes through a rather slowly yet progressing change in himself. His ambitions were not simply just for power or to be the strongest demon around. It is still was a goal that he wanted to pursue power, but he developed a sense of humanity that he never had before. Despite his constant coldness and rudeness towards his companions he actually does care about them more than he lets on. He eventually opened his eyes to the human race just a little bit, learning that not all humans were the same. His distaste for the human race slowly dispersed as he spent long days in the Ningenkai. He keeps to himself most the time and does not talk unless it was necessary or if he felt in the mood to taunt or provoke someone.
He often makes it a habit to insult people. Those people tend to be idiots, or Kuwabara. Hiei sees him as an easy target of the crew, so he likes to go ahead and piss off Kuwabara for his own amusement. His relationship to Kuwabara doesn't seem to be such a great one but he gets thrills from pissing the poor boy off but also his nerves get plucked by Kuwabara as well.
It is obvious that he also values family. Despite his neutral reactions towards his twin, Hiei actually does spend time watching and protecting her as well as lowering his violence levels when he's around her. When anyone does threaten his only family, he would definitely not give a second thought before killing the person. He's extremely protective as it is clear. He might treat her with a cold shoulders sometimes, but he does it for her own good. He doesn't believe that she would accept him even though she probably would have. After all the girl desperately searched for her only brother day in an day out. As many times as he said he does not care for the Ningenkai, he saved it just as many times. He often never admits to caring, but secretly he does. If he was convinced, he would help others. Most of the time it would mean that he was getting something in return like halving a sentence or some form of power. He doesn't make it a habit to save people and only does it when he has no other choice.
He's rather blunt with everything. He doesn't sugar coat his words when he speaks. If the enemy is weak they're weak if they're strong they're strong. People with interesting abilities intrigue him and he might use that as a reason for even speaking to these people in general. Yes, underneath all that tough skin he's pretty much a softy regarding people he has been close to or spends most of his time with i.e. Yuusuke, Kurama, and Kuwabara. At one point during the Three Kings Saga, Hiei came to a conclusion that he had nothing left to live for that there was nothing else he could do with his life, so he would gladly give it up. Though, have his abrupt resurrection thanks to Mukuro, Hiei has gained a new goal to one day be king of Makai, thanks to Yuusuke, but staying loyal to his companions. He would gladly die for them if it was necessary. That is how his mind is set.
Despite his overcast of coldness, he isn't that much different from his companions. He likes a good fight, and he fights fairly. He doesn't use cheap tricks, at least not after Yuusuke pawned him. Hiei also dislikes doing things that are beneath him. He has his own pride to conserve. Hiei is a proud demon despite his disposition. He doesn't cheat his way to a win and gained his own right and name through his own abilities. He had sacrificed so much to gain so little, yet he seemed to be quite content with himself. He still wants to be King of Makai one day. He'll definitely strive for that position against his companions.
Questions/Comments/Concerns:
There a few significant details about Hiei that should be known:
- Due to the fact that he's been in Facility for about 2.5 years, Hiei is no longer 16-17 from end series Yu Yu Hakusho but 19-20.
- His height hasn't changed much, except the length of his hair that he should cut off.
- He has multiple scars along his arms and legs when undressed or wearing minimal clothing due to the experiments. Most of which dislocated his arm and cut off his limbs and then put back together during the recuperating off week.
- Hiei is still the same cold and detached character, but there is a little more personality to his usually unapproachable self. He can carry a simple conversation and less threats of death.
- Due to Yukina's influence, Hiei has been slowly changing in a noticeable way, but not much is different. He still holds to the root of his personalities. The biggest thing that should be noted that from Facility, Yukina learned that Hiei's her brother, so he's struggling internally to figure out how he should behave around his sister like a normal brother and will be beyond pissed off and upset for a moment when he realized Facility is no more, and he's not quite the 'Hiei' that he thought himself to be.
- Most Facility Test Subjects are supposed clones of their originals. They still possess the same abilities and the same level of powers. These clones are uncanny and there is nothing about them that is different from their original. Hiei knows that he's a clone and he had long stop giving a crap about it but that didn't mean he had his own turmoils. Hiei still doesn't care about it and accepts himself for what he is.
- Comments and concerns regarding his interactions with friends/allies etc will probably be the same, though feel free to talk to me about it since I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. I will work with anyone for any reasons or concerns they have!
